Zip Lining – A Week With My Kids

So here I sit listening to ‘Stayin Alive’ by the Bee Gee’s (part of a play list that I have, a conversation for another day), and Stayin Alive was very instrumental during a week vacation where I was ‘Zip Lining – A Week With My Kids‘.

What a fantastic week but an adrenaline filled time with my children where laughter and dare devil antics seemed to be the main theme. Especially for my little 9-year-old daughter who has a fear of heights, this responsible dad decided to take them zip lining to begin the week.

Yep, that’s right, this old man decided that to help her with her fear of heights by placing her 30-40ft in the air attached by two ropes to a metal wire suspended between two trees, brilliant. Did  it work, hell yeah! Well kind of, I didn’t take into consideration the aerial assault course, but she definitely got hooked (excuse the pun) on the zip line.

zipline6In fact, so much did she enjoy the zip lining that I had to take her to another zip line 2 hours away in Montreal that was far higher, and I can tell you she had no problems doing that bad boy. It amazes me that these little life lessons and memories that will stick with her forever, I will always be a part of, long after I am gone.

Does she still have a fear of heights perhaps, but now she has confidence that she has zip lined at a great height and that she can park her fear to one side when she puts her mind to it. Next stop roller coasters!

So there you have it, ‘Zip Lining – A Week With My Kids‘. Please feel free to drop me your thoughts on this in the comments section.
